Do We Need More Exercise If We Have a Sedentary Job?


In today's world, where more people have sedentary or office jobs, it is important for people to participate in regular exercise. While the recommended guidelines suggest aiming for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity aerobic activity per week for adults, the question arises: do. we need more than this if we have sedentary jobs.

The sedentary nature of office work often means people experience prolonged periods of sitting, which can have effect our health by increasing the risk of obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and musculoskeletal issues. Thus, it's essential to consider whether the recommended amount of exercise is sufficient to counteract these risks for individuals with sedentary lifestyles.

Although research suggests that while meeting the minimum exercise guidelines is beneficial, it has been noted that incorporating additional physical activity into our daily routines can provide further health benefits, particularly for those with sedentary jobs. So engaging in more exercise can help offset the negative effects of prolonged sitting and promote overall health and well-being.
